Echo-Capture is a Hexodic Echo that spends a charge to run a second capture check after the normal one, in which enemy stones that touch a target count as walls instead of shielding it. Echo-Capture lets a player capture a whole sealed enemy group in one turn — groups that the normal check cannot touch because their stones protect each other.

How Echo-Capture works
After your turn’s normal capture check, the Echo-Capture check looks at every enemy stone again. An enemy stone is captured when:
- none of its neighbours is empty;
- at least one of its neighbours is your stone;
- it stands on tier 1 or 2 (tier 0 is still immune);
- your neighbouring stones’ tiers, plus its own tier + 1 for each neighbour that is board edge or another enemy stone, add up to more than six times its tier.
The difference from the normal check is how enemy neighbours count: in the normal check an enemy neighbour saves a stone, while in the Echo-Capture check an enemy neighbour counts like board edge. Every stone meeting the test is captured together.
Echo-Capture and Takeover
Every stone taken by Echo-Capture counts toward Takeover, exactly like any other capture. A sealed group of several enemy stones is therefore the largest single jump toward Takeover in Hexodic, and a player with a charge left makes every tight enemy cluster a liability.
